The purpose of the analysis is to evaluate the harmonic distortion of Voltage and Current caused by the presence of non-linear loads (for example: electronic ballasts, UPS systems, variable speed drives) in the electrical network. This phenomenon may cause malfunction or damage to electrical and electronic equipment.

The study allows dimensioning the capacitor banks for reactive compensation and passive filters to mitigate the effects of harmonics; also, identify and analyze the resonances to optimize the performance of the System.

The applicable standard is IEEE 519.
